Hello, I'm Kim Huston, a Los Angeles based Picture Editor.
Member of IATSE 700 - Editors Guild, ASIFA, and Film Independent.
The phrase I like use to describe myself.
Though I'm not sure if that's fair to New York and Wisconsin....
I'm an IATSE Local 700, MPEG Editor based in mid-city LA. I've been working professionally in film and television since 2008. In New York I worked in reality, documentary and at Food Network in Chelsea Market. In LA I work in narrative features and the occasional scripted tv show.
I started my filmmaking career in stop-motion animation making claymations in my basement, inspired by Aardman studios and The Brothers Quay.
I enjoy learning Japanese, trying to grow various plants in the backyard, baking pies and breads with apples from the tree in the back.
I like drinking whiskey and gins and fancy cocktails, assembling miniatures or models of things.
I'm into cars and I really like driving (not so much in LA traffic...), so a good ride is important. I have a green wrapped Tesla Model 3 and a 1976 Datsun 280z.
I have a corgi mix named Shuffle, who got to be foley and SFX for Ein in Cowboy Bebop. Highlight of his career. And mine!
